The Charlie Kirk shooting case began after a fatal incident on September 10. The shooting occurred during a political event at Utah Valley University.
The event was organized by Turning Point USA and drew a large crowd. Authorities said Kirk was addressing attendees when he was shot from a distance.
Emergency responders pronounced Kirk dead shortly afterward. The attack quickly triggered a multi-agency investigation.

Police arrested Robinson two days after the shooting. The arrest followed a large search operation involving multiple agencies.

One motion asks a judge to disqualify the Utah County Attorney’s Office. Defense lawyers claim a potential conflict of interest exists.
They argue a family member of a deputy prosecutor attended the event where Kirk was shot. According to the motion, that individual later discussed the incident with the prosecutor.
Prosecutors Reject Conflict Claims
Prosecutors strongly dispute the defense argument. They said the prosecutor’s child did not witness the shooting directly.
Officials also said the person does not have meaningful information about the crime. Therefore, prosecutors said the individual will not be called as a witness.
The Charlie Kirk shooting case remains in the pretrial phase. Both sides continue preparing arguments before the next court hearing.
