Speculation about the president’s health erupted online after the White House announced on Saturday that Trump would not be making any public appearances for the rest of the day

Donald Trump Jr. has reacted to a recent accusation online that several accounts on X were pushing a conspiracy theory that President Trump was dead or badly ill. The theory evolved because the president had not been seen for days.

“What we experienced in the last 24 hours from the Left was nothing short of demonic,” the original post said, “While President Trump was working all day on a critical mission to rescue an American pilot, the left ran a massive campaign pushing the lie that he was dead.”

The X account, known as @jackunheard, posted a series of screenshots of various accounts reporting that Trump had been admitted to Walter Reed hospital. “If you need more proof that the left hates America, you’re no better than them,” he added.

Trump Jr. caught wind of the post and quoted it on Sunday, saying, “Sick people.”

The Republican president’s physical condition has been a major point of scrutiny during his second term

The Republican president’s physical condition has been a major point of scrutiny during his second administration, with the public analyzing his frequent verbal slip-ups, visible mobility limitations, and documented health concerns. Questions about the hospital visit surfaced after the White House disclosed at 11:08am Saturday that the president had cleared his schedule for the day’s duration. Such a move is unusual for President Trump, who normally spends weekends golfing at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump’s personal spokesman, Steven Cheung, posted on X: “There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him.”

Trump’s last documented trip to the medical center occurred in October when he purportedly received an MRI scan. “I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect,” the president informed journalists traveling with him on Air Force One at that time.

Trump, among the most senior presidents in American history at 79, declined to explain the reason for the imaging procedure, which can be employed to identify numerous medical conditions. “The doctor said [it] was some of the best reports, for the age, they’ve ever seen,” Trump stated. Trump told reporters to “ask the doctors” when pressed about the reason for his magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.

Dr Barbabella stated that the President “continues to demonstrate excellent overall health

The President’s visit was a “scheduled follow-up evaluation as part of his ongoing health maintenance plan and included advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventative health assessments,” according to presidential physician Dr Sean Barbabella. Dr Barbabella stated that the President “continues to demonstrate excellent overall health”. The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) notes that MRI scans are especially valuable for examining soft tissues, using strong magnetic fields to create images of a patient’s internal organs.

In 2025, the White House disclosed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Trump’s doctor identified the condition after observing swelling in his legs.

Chronic venous insufficiency develops when leg veins cannot properly pump blood back to the heart, leading to accumulation in the lower legs. Barbabella characterized the condition as “benign and common” among elderly people.

Trump had also been seen recently with cosmetic patches on the back of his hand. The White House blamed the bruising on excessive handshaking, maintaining it has no connection to the vein condition.
